Hey there, I'm glad you're here! Whether you want to come by yourself, with a friend or date, or with a private group, you're welcome to join one of my crochet workshops. 

Crochet is a deliberate act of slowing down, a rebellion against the capitalist idea that everything should be instantly available. My mission is to cultivate community through my crochet workshops where everyone is invited to embrace and cherish the beauty of slow fashion.

I believe that crochet is best taught and practised in a community setting. It can be intimidating at first, but with some simple techniques and a little help you will be able to make your own clothes and accessories from scratch. How cool and rewarding is that!

Currently I offer four kinds of workshops:

✧ the beginners workshop is designed for those who have never crocheted before (techniques: chaining, single crochet, colour switching). No prior experience necessary. 

✧ the beginners plus workshop is designed for those who know how to make basic stitches and want to level up their skills (techniques: magic ring, working in rounds, DC, HDC, weaving in ends)

✧ the 3-part beginners course is designed for those who have never crocheted before and want a comprehensive introduction to crochet (techniques: chaining, single crochet, colour switching, magic ring, working in rounds, DC, HDC, weaving in ends)

✧ Special workshops that are centered around making a specific item. 

The teacher speaks both Dutch and English and is righthanded. 

Costs
The workshops are €35,- which include materials (hook plus two skeins of cotton yarn), an absolute beginner-friendly pattern, tea and snacks.

Location 
The workshop takes place at a lovely photography studio in Amsterdam West - Krelis Louwenstraat 1. It's in an old school building shared with a lot of other local creatives. 

The workshops are held in groups of max 6. Please mind that the workshop will proceed only with a minimum of 3 participants. Participants will be notified on time and refunds/rescheduling options will be provided :)  Have a look at my cancellation policy before making a booking, just in case!

Hey, leuk dat je me gevonden hebt! Of je je nu alleen, met een vriend, vriendin, date of een privégroep aanmeldt, je bent erg welkom om mee te doen aan een van mijn haak workshops voor beginners. 

Haken gaat over vertragen, een stil protest tegen het kapitalistische idee dat alles direct beschikbaar moet zijn. Het is mijn missie om een community te creëeren via mijn haak workshops, waar iedereen wordt uitgenodigd om te ervaren hoe bijzonder slow fashion is. 

Het is het fijnste om te leren haken in een groepssetting waar haak beginners ook van elkaar kunnen leren. In het begin kan het intimiderend zijn, maar met een paar technieken en een beetje hulp kun je helemaal zelf je eigen kleding en accessories maken. Hoe geweldig is dat!

Op dit moment bied ik vier soorten haak workshops aan:

✧ De beginners workshop is ontworpen voor hen die nog nooit hebben gehaakt (technieken: kettingen, vaste haken, kleurwissel). Je hoeft geen ervaring te hebben om mee te doen.  

✧ De beginners plus workshop is bedoeld voor degenen die weten hoe ze basissteken moeten maken en hun vaardigheden willen verbeteren (technieken: magische ring, werken in rondes, stokjes, halfstokjes, afhechten).

✧ De driedelige beginners cursus is ontworpen voor hen die nog nooit hebben gehaakt. Het is een uitgebreide introductie waardoor je na de afronding zelfstandig aan de slag kan (technieken: kettingen, vaste haken, kleurwissel, magische ring, werken in rondes, stokjes, halfstokjes, afhechten). Je hoeft geen ervaring te hebben om mee te doen. 

✧ Speciale workshops die gericht zijn op het maken van een specifiek item.

De docent spreekt zowel Nederlands als Engels en is rechtshandig.

Kosten
De haak workshops zijn €35,- inclusief materiaal (haaknaald plus twee strengen katoengaren), een heel beginner-vriendelijk patroon, thee en snacks.

Locatie
De haak workshop vindt plaats in een prachtige fotostudio in Amsterdam West op de Krelis Louwenstraat 1. De studio is gevestigd in een oud schoolgebouw dat gedeeld wordt met veel andere creatieve bedrijven. 

De haak workshops worden gehouden in groepen van maximaal 6 personen. Let op: de workshop gaat alleen door met een minimum van 3 deelnemers. Deelnemers worden tijdig op de hoogte gebracht en restitutie/herplanningsmogelijkheden worden geboden :) Bekijk mijn annuleringsbeleid voordat je een reservering maakt, voor het geval dat!
